The CrossFit Off Season- heard of it? Oh yes, it exists….it’s the time between the CrossFit games and September, when the kids are out of school, vacations hit, and the gym is the last thing on your mind. The hype of the competitions has left for the season, as their are limited competitions during the summer months, atleast here in the valley. Don’t let the CrossFit Off Season hurt your strength, your skills, and your health! We are here to help provide some awesome tips and ways to rebuild your body during the off season, when you aren’t quite getting into the gym as much as you should.
Recover
Take the time your body needs- address any aches, pains or concerning areas. Head to Impact Physical Therapy so you can get the sessions you need before you ramp up your training again.
Take Time with Family
Use this time to do lighter workouts, if you are on vacation, make it a fun family day- a jog on the beach, a bodyweight workout in your hotel room- get your blood flowing and your heart racing just by using simple bodyweight movements like push-ups, sit-ups or squats
Set Goals
Review your past WOD times, or 1-rep max- what are your fitness goals as the next season approaches? Lift more? lose weight? Tone up? Write them down and get specific- this helps get your mind right before the busy season begins again.
