Compare Physical Therapy Options
Physical Therapy Services in Glendale, Arizona
I frequently hear horror stories of patients that have chosen a less than desirable healthcare path based on their lack of knowledge on the options that are available along with the blind trust they may have in the traditional medical model. Don’t get me wrong there is definitely a time and place to seek immediate attention but for most acute/chronic issues Impact Physical Therapy can be the BEST healthcare option for musculoskeletal issues..lets give you an example- check out Patient A, and Patient B and see for yourself why experience matters!
Patient A: 55 year old woman that has been dealing with plantar fasciitis for at least 4 months. She started noticing that her right foot was hurting and she was walking differently so she decided to seek out medical advice. She made an appointment with her primary care physician who then gave her pain medication and anti-inflammatories and ordered a consult to see a podiatrist. She waited 1-2 weeks to get into see her podiatrist who then placed her in a walking boot and ordered x-rays. Several weeks went by with increased pain and abnormal walking so an injection was given to the bottom of the foot. Mild relief occurred but the symptoms came back after 3-4 days. Then the podiatrist ordered physical therapy for the patient along with giving them a night splint. The patient had to wait another 3-4 days to get into see a physical therapist. Once she was at physical therapy she was given basic home stretching to perform at home and was seen by her PT for less than 15 min each treatment session as the majority of time was spent with a technition. Went to physical therapy for 4 weeks with minimal overall improvements. During this journey the patient was less productive at home and work, more irritable, less nights sleep, and had to stop exercising due to the pain. Her weight increased due to her inability to exercise. She had to miss many days off of work due to all of the appointments and use her PTO that she was saving for a family trip. She had increased stress and anxiety due to her weight gain.
Patient B: 55 year old woman who started feeling pain on the bottom of her foot and walking differently. She immediately called Impact Physical Therapy for an appointment and got in within 1-2 days. She was seen by her physical therapy specialist for 60 minutes consisting of a comprehensive walking and movement assessment, myofascial work, dry needling, kinesiotape, and customized home exercise program. She was able to walk with normal mechanics and minimal pain after 1 visit. Her symptoms were completely resolved in 4 sessions. She was back to exercising immediately, did not gain weight, and did not have to miss work. Overall she feels amazing and has spent less time away from work and her family. She can now go on that vacation because she did not have to use her PTO.
As you can see, both patients have physical therapy needs and services completed, but only one came to Impact Physical Therapy. Experience the difference, because it certainly matters! Call us today!
