The BEST Way to Start Your Day
The Importance of Drinking Water!
The cell phone alarm rings off at 5:30 am and you roll over to quickly turn it off. You stumble out of bed looking like the swamp thing all hunched over and tight. As you get out of bed and make contact with the ground you notice that your ankles and calves don’t seem to bend as well and your back resists your ability to stand tall, so you take small steps to head towards the coffee pot. The stiffness that you are feeling is dehydration within the connective tissues. That is why it takes several minutes (or for some several hrs) along with a nice hot shower to get moving. Our bodies need water especially in the morning!
You are typically the most dehydrated the first thing in the morning so its extremely important to rehydrate your brain, muscles, tissues and organs. Drinking coffee immediately will actually dehydrate you more. It is important to try and start your day with plenty of water prior to drinking lots of coffee (24-36 oz.). So try waking up and stumbling over to the sink so you can chug 2 large glasses of water. Then go for the coffee. Trust me your tissues, digestion, and brain will thank you later.
