When Should You Get Into Physical Therapy?

When should you get into physical therapy? A common question a lot of people ask themselves. At what point should you consider making that phone call? Mild symptoms can turn into chronic pain and dysfunction. Here is a list of common issues that should be addressed sooner rather than later.

  • Low back tightness or pain when sitting at a desk or in a car
  • Difficulty bending over to pick an object up from the floor
  • Frequent headaches
  • Nagging tightness that does not seem to improve with foam rolling
  • Pinching in the hips during squatting that does not improve with stretching
  • Knee pain that limits your ability to squat, jog, jump or step up on a curb
  • Heel or foot pain that effects your ability to walk, run or stand for long periods of time
  • Difficulty getting on the floor to play with your children
  • Urinary leakage when you cough, laugh, exercise or sneeze
